11 Waverly Place
11 Waverly Place, New York, NY
Brick structure with copper and terra cotta detailing.
A 12-story apartment building in New York’s historic Greenwich Village, this project involved the replacement of approximately eighty tons of steel beams, column repair, roof and roof slab replacement and full restoration of the facades and roof plaza. The roof slab and structural roof steel were found to be in danger of collapse and two floors of the building had to be vacated in order to perform the required repairs. Design elements included custom windows throughout the building and a new plaza deck at roof level. The project required redesign and relocation of building wide mechanical systems.
